I love the fall. It is one of my favorite seasons. The food, the smell of the air, apple picking, apple pies...YUM!
To celebrate today, I am making a yummy dinner.
Pork Chops with homemade applesauce (a different recipe than the one in the link)
Stuffing
Maple glazed carrots (from the official Vermont Maple Cookbook)
...and Apple Betty for dessert, an apple recipe from the local farm where I apple pick.
Cannot wait for dinner! I will let you all know how the pork chops turn out. I have never done this recipe and I usually overcook pork...

Bedroom Color
So in case you all have been waiting and wondering what color I decided to do the bedroom, I went with a taupe. The actual color was "Riviera Beach" by Behr. I used their new ultra paint, which has the primer in the paint, and it was awesome. I could have got way with one coat, but I did two.
I love it. I will post some pictures later, its too dark to take photos now.
The part I love most about painting a room is being done, putting it back together and then buying the accent pieces for the room :) I think I am going to go towards red for the pop colors in the room. Can't wait until its done.

Labor Day 2009
CRUMBS
Norwalk 1/2 marathon
This past weekend I did a 1/2 marathon in CT with my BFF Lauren.
It went OK, not as well as the first one which I did in May. I think there are a few reasons for that.
1.) I didn't train
2.) It was all on pavement
3.) I didn't know the course
All in all, it was good though. I was in pain the last 3 miles, but I finished.

Fuel belt bottles ready to go

Pre-Race

Yup...it was drizzling that morning

Post-Race ice-cream :)
This was right before Lauren got her Popsicle stuck to her lip...think "The Christmas Story"

Yummy lunch at Centro after our post-run pedi's
...AND

Me and my two favorite kitties
Bristol and Hinkley

Late Fees
I refuse to ever pay a late fee on my credit cards. Granted I always pay them on time, but once in a while I blank and I end up paying one late, maybe this happens once or twice a year, if that much at all. Of course this past month I blanked and paid a bill 1 day late (usually this bill is due on the 2nd of every month and this month it happened to be the 1st). So, I just received my bill thats due October 2nd and there I see a $39.00 late fee, I immediately call customer service and tell them that it was one day late and I would like them to take the charge off...and guess what...poof! It's gone. I was even prepared to cancel the card...glad I didn't have to do that.
Moral of the story, don't pay late fees, call first (and be nice). Especially in this economy.

catamount 5K
Well, yesterday was the third week in a row that I ran the Catamount 5k trail run (they do it every Tuesday night in the summer). My time was better than last week, even with a few "mishaps"
1. We did a different trail this time and there were some congested areas where we had to walk/slow run.
2. I got stung by a bee on my a$$ (well more like the back of my thigh) and it HURT. This is only the second time in my entire life that I have been stung. When it happened I let out a pretty good scream, just ask Leslie. She did not know what was going on. We stopped for about 15 seconds so she could check it out and make sure the bee wasn't still there and the stinger was out...
So, all in all, my time for week 3 was 29 minutes and 16 seconds.
Week 2 was 30 minutes and 13 seconds
Week 1 was 28 minutes and 40 seconds
