Pretty Flowers

I love having fresh flowers in the house. It's one thing that I have to convince myself its OK to spend money on, even without a job.I bought these beautiful bright pink roses last week. Wish they would last forever :)

Connecticut Sweet Connecticut

I went home for a few days to see everyone and hang out. Was nice not to have to rush around so much. Here are some pics from the visit.

...and as always, Lauren and I (and Piper) were the first ones to pass out on the floor!

Remember Me?

I have been really bad about blogging lately. Now that I am not working, I am not in front of a computer 9 hours a day, which is really nice.

A few things I promised:
1.) Pictures from the 50 mile bike ride up in northern Vermont.
We were so far north, that to the right was the US of A border station...

and to the left....

CANADA!

And the team. H-O-T (why is cycling a sport that has to make you look so silly).

Feels like its been forever.

I haven't posted anything in a week and it feels like forever. I have been super busy being unemployed and all. Here is a quick recap for those of you that actually read this :)

Two weekends ago I did a 50 mile bike ride with J and his bro up north. I will post photos soon.

This past week/weekend were busy busy. Lots of cleaning the house and what not. Working out.

On Wednesday our friends Jimmy and Laura had a baby boy!! He was born at 5am and by noon the little nugget was in my arms :) Photo coming soon...and maybe not. Seeing as they are busy being new parents, who knows when I will get my hands on that photo.

Friday I was in a crappy mood, and then ended up going to the movies with a friend since it was gross out. Wouldn't you know that as soon as we got to the moves the sun came out :) Oh well. We say "UP" in 3D. It was a really cute movie. I reco.

Saturday I had a friends wedding shower in the AM and then a bachlorette party at night.
Sunday was a 20 mile bike ride, BEAUTIFUL day for it. I think Sunday was one of the best days we have had in VT in a while.

Yesterday I started painting the spare bedroom, the "Connecticut" room I like to call it. It will be PINK, to be more specific, Berrylicious.

And here we are today. This morning I drove J to meet his boss. They went to Boston for the day for a meeting. We had breakfast at the Red Hen Baking Company. BEST croissant I have ever had. And it was still hot too. Afterward I came home and me and Piper went for a 5 mile run. The a haircut and now I am home.

Tomorrow is going to be a nice day, so I may do some more yardwork.
The Thursday me and Pipes are off to Connecticut for a while. See fam and friends. I CANNOT wait. How much to you wanna bet that when I get back I am sad and upset and write a post about how much I miss being home?!?!?

Funemployment Day 14: Went to the spa

Ahhhh, yesterday was wonderful. Me and Friend went to TOPNOTCH in Stowe for the afternoon.
They had a 2 for 1 special, so we each got an 80 minute massage for half the price. Beforehand, we lounged by the pool and in the hot tub and then ordered lunch and a glass of wine, by the pool, in our bathrobes.

Following the wonderful massages we did a little steam room and then home it was. A fabulous day.

If you are ever in Stowe, I recommend Topnotch. Said to be one of the best spa's in the country.

Today, I am going to the hospital to see two of my good friends up here who had a baby boy this morning :)

Crazy Storm

So there is a saying in Vermont: "If you don't like the weather, wait 5 minutes"
I think I caught that in pictures last week...

Check these out.
Sunny to the left and storming to the right.

It was sunny at our house, and then the wind started to pick up BIG time.
Here are some pictures about 3 minutes later

This is what we call an angry lake.

The mountains have disappeared.
