1/2 Marathon

So, I did it. I signed up for my first half marathon!! (well entered the lottery).
Its actually a 2-person relay at the Vermont City Marathon on Memorial Day weekend. Last year I did a 5-person relay. John and I are splitting it. I am excited...and nervous at the same time. Lucky for me (since I don't live anywhere warm) my gym has an indoor track, so I wont be stuck on a treadmill all winter.

My new favorite snack

So my new fav way to eat microwave popcorn is with Cabot Cheddar Cheese Shake on it...SOOO YUMMY!! I get the Newman's Own popcorn with no butter on it. Add a little cheese and voila! Its better than butter...

The Dark Knight

So John and I are probably the last people on earth to see The Dark Knight. We watched it last night. I LOVED IT. I didn't think I was going to like it that much, but I was presently surprised.

A funny thing that happened while we were watching it...In the scene where the joker comes to the DA's party. The senator steps forward. “We’re not intimidated by you thugs,” he says. The joker, saying, “You remind me of my father — I hated my father,” grabs the senator’s head, and thrusts a knife to his face. The senator freezes, eyes wide.

John goes, "Holy crap thats Senator Leahy!
That's our senator...go Vermont!

That's two comic book based movies that I have liked in the past week!

Best Slippers EVER!

I got UGG Slippers for Christmas and they are the most comfortable slippers ever! I hate taking them off and all I can think about is putting them back on as soon as I get home. I almost took them to work with me today so I could wear them!

The Hour I First Believed

I am reading Wally Lamb's new book. It is a really good book. Every chance I get I pick the book up rather than watch TV or read US Weekly! HaHa.

Here is a quick synopsis:
When forty-seven-year-old high school teacher Caelum Quirk and his younger wife, Maureen, a school nurse, move to Littleton, Colorado, they both get jobs at Columbine High School. In April 1999, Caelum returns home to Three Rivers, Connecticut, to be with his aunt who has just had a stroke. But Maureen finds herself in the school library at Columbine, cowering in a cabinet and expecting to be killed, as two vengeful students go on a carefully premeditated, murderous rampage. Miraculously she survives, but at a cost: she is unable to recover from the trauma. Caelum and Maureen flee Colorado and return to an illusion of safety at the Quirk family farm in Three Rivers. Movie Reco

On New Years day all we did was lay on the couch and watch movies.
The first one was Waterhorse. It was OK. Prob wouldn't watch it again, unless I had a 12 year old child.


After that we watched Ironman, which I wasn't thrilled about, but it ended up being a great movie. I def recommend that one!

New Years Update

Well, our NYE ended up being a good one despite everything. We ended up moving the "party" to Laura and Jimmy's. Laura made a fabulous steak and mushrooms dinner. We had lots of wine and what else do you do in 0 degree weather....go in the HOTTUB! It was sooo cold out and windy, but the hot tub was awesome. My hair was freezing and the beers would start to freeze as soon as you opened them.
